Led by the Registrar, the Registry serves as a coordinating force for various departments, aiming for efficiency and optimal performance.
The Governing Council
The University Council stands at the apex of our institution’s governance structure. As the highest decision-making body, it plays a crucial role in:
• Policy formulation
• Advisory functions
• Supervisory responsibilities
Led by the Pro-Chancellor, a nominee of the Visitor, the Council oversees the University’s policies, operations, and assets. Its influence extends to all offices and functionaries within the institution.
Supporting the Council’s vital work is the Council Affairs Unit, which serves as the secretariat to the Governing Council. This unit’s key responsibilities include:
• Assisting the Registrar in Council-related matters
• Ensuring prompt implementation of Council decisions
• Facilitating Council meetings and those of its standing committees, such as:
– Finance and General Purpose Committee
– Tenders Board
• Safeguarding all Council documents
Through its efficient operations, the Council Affairs Unit helps maintain the smooth functioning of the University’s highest governing body, contributing to our institution’s continued growth and success.
