The deadline for the submission of Concept Notes for the 2025 National Research Fund (NRF) Grant Cycle of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has been extended to Thursday, September 11, 2025. This is to give researchers ample time to submit their concept notes, due to the initial challenges experienced with the NRF Portal.
Faculty members of the University of Lagos are encouraged to take advantage of this extension to finalise and submit concept notes for the prestigious NRF grant cycle which supports high-quality, impactful research in the following three major categories:
- Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)
- Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation (SETI)
- Cross-Cutting (CC) thematic areas (such as Blue Economy, Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy, and National System of Innovation)
Please note that:
- Multidisciplinary collaboration is highly encouraged.
- Faculty members are urged to form research teams across departments and disciplines.
- Early-career researchers and mentees are especially welcome to participate in teams to promote capacity building.
For interested researchers, the Research Management Office (RMO), UNILAG is available to:
- Facilitate group formation across faculties and disciplines
- Provide support in identifying collaborators
- Offer guidance in proposal development and compliance with TETFund procedures
