The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Medical Centre wishes to inform students, staff, residents, visitors, and other members of the University community that precautionary measures are being strengthened in response to public health concerns about Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The outbreak is presently limited to East Africa based on information available from official channels as of today.
There is no need for panic, but everyone is encouraged to remain careful and practice good hygiene.
Please ensure you do the following:
- Wash your hands regularly
- Use hand sanitisers where avallable
- Avoid close contact with sick persons
- Report symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, weakness, or unexplained bleeding early to the Medical Centre
- Avoid sharing rumours or false information
