The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS) of the University of Lagos has won a research grant of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000).
The feat is a collaborative effort of Dr. Akinmayowa Akin-Otiko from the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS) alongside researchers in the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Oluwatoyin Olokodana-James, Dr. Francis O. Falako, Dr. Nweke, Florence Ewomazino and Dr. Paul Onovoh of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages, Morehouse College, Atlanta, U.S.A.
The $50,000 research grant which is under a project titled “Engaging African Realities: Integrating Social Sciences within African Theology” is funded by the Nagel Institute of Calvin University with support from the Templeton Religion Trust.
The grant is to fund a research project entitled: Nollywood and Evangelical Films: Exploring Nigerian Cinema in relation to African Traditional Histories, Values and Spirituality.
The research grant commences on the 1st of July, 2021 and will run till 30th of May, 2023.
