The Safeguarding Center, University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to hold a students’ hackathon competition and safe-guarding training programme on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00a.m. at Hall B, Academic Publishing Center (APC), opposite Faculty of Social Sciences, UNILAG.
The event aims to:
- Train and certify students as safeguarding officers for digital security and harm prevention.
- Develop an app addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) and other new/emerging campus violence.
The app is to provide:
- Clear information on recognizing and reporting TFGBV;
- Immediate resources and support for survivors; and
- Efficient and discreet response protocols within the university environment.
