DESCRIPTION:The Professor Ogundipe Innovative Challenge (POIC) is back again! \nDubbed POIC 2.0\, the grand finale of the second edition of this highly competitive Challenge\, is scheduled as follows: \nDate: Thursday\, February 8\, 2024 \nTime: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. \nVenue: J.F. Ajayi Auditorium\, UNILAG \nBefore arriving at this phase of the competition\, application opened to interested participants on the POIC official website (https://poic.unilag.edu.ng) in 2020\, where nine hundred and forty-seven (947) applicants registered in one hundred and ninety-nine (199) teams with fifty (50) proposals. Subsequently\, ten (10) semi-finalists were drawn from the total applicants and five (5) of them made it to the final round. It is a competition that provides a platform for students to develop hands-on skills in Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through a network of state-of-the-art incubation hubs partnering with the initiative. \nThe maiden edition of the Innovative Challenge (http://196.45.48.45/?p=5219) witnessed inspiring ideas from tertiary institution students across the nation\, with Team Solution emerging overall winner. \nIn this edition\, the Faculty of Science is collaborating with the Professor Ogundipe Innovation and Science Foundation (POISF) to host POIC 2.0. DESCRIPTION:The schedule of activities for election into executive positions in the Sandwich Programme of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2022/2023 Academic session is as follows: \n\n\n\nS/N\nDate\nActivities\n\n\n1\nMonday\, \n05/02/2024\nMeeting with Sandwich Management\n\n\n2\nTuesday\, \n06/02/2024\nRelease of 2022/2023 Election Guidelines for commencement of the electioneering campaigns in the Sandwich programmes\n\n\n3\nWednesday\, \n07/02/2024\nFormation of Electoral Committees by the Sandwich Management and submission of the lists of Electoral Committees to the Dean of Student Affairs\n\n\n4\nThursday\, \n08/02/2024\nOnline filling and submission of nomination forms\n\n\n5\nFriday\, \n09/02/2024\nCITS generates and submits a list of contestants to the DSA\n\n\n6\nMonday\, \n12/02/2024\nRelease of names of contestants on the University website and Student Affairs Notice Board\n\n\n7\nTuesday\, \n13/02/2024\nPresentation of manifestoes (to end by 6.00p.m.)\n\n\n8\nWednesday\, \n14/02/2024\nElections by e-voting in all Faculties and Departments (to hold between 9.00a.m.-2.00p.m.)\n\n\n\n  \nStudents running the Sandwich Programme should note the following: \n\nThe Sandwich Election Committee shall comprise representatives from each Department involved in Sandwich Programme.\nAll registered students for the 2022/2023 session are eligible to vote.\n\n\nAll final-year students are eligible to vote but not eligible to contest.\nAll 2022/2023 freshers are eligible to vote but not eligible to contest.\nStudents who have matriculated in a post-secondary/higher institution other than the University of Lagos are not eligible to serve in the Electoral Committee or contest for any position.\nManifesto should be presented at the contestants’ faculties and should end by 6.00 p.m. when students are physically on campus. Otherwise\, manifestos should be presented on Sandwich Department and Faculty electronic platforms.\nElections are to start at 9.00 am and close at 2.00 pm. The results of the election will be printed out at CITS in the presence of representatives of contestants\, Security Unit\, Dean of Student Affairs\, Sandwich Management and Chairmen of Electoral Committees. Subsequently\, same result will be posted on the University website.
