Professor Taibat Lawanson, Co-Director at the Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development, University of Lagos, has been appointed Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Preparation of the Lagos Urban Development Policy (LSUDP).
The Committee was inaugurated by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on electronic Geographic Information System (e-GIS), Dr. Jide Babatunde on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Some members of the Committee who are alumni of the University of Lagos are: Town Planner Lookman Oshodi, Town Planner Adekunle Salami, Dr. Olanrewaju Bakinson and Mrs Bunmi Alugbin.
Urban Development Policies are an effective tool to support evidence-based urban governance and decision making to address challenges of urbanisation and catalyse sustainable development.
