A delegation of the University of Lagos Business School (ULBS) recently embarked on a 2-week immersion programme at the South Carolina State University (SCSU) in the United States of America (USA).
The ULBS delegation included Professor Sunday Adebisi (Facilitator) and Ms. Okon Itoro Archibong (an EMBA participant and an aspiring DBA Student). Professor Adebisi attended the immersion programme on a special invitation to deepen the collaboration between ULBS and South Carolina State University Business School in the area of Entrepreneurship.


The Business School of the American International University, Nairobi, Kenya also had a delegation of eleven (11) students and two professors who also participated in the Immersion Programme.
The programme, which is part of measures targeted at exposing ULBS participants to global business operations all over the world, opened on Monday, June 8, 2025, with addresses by the President of the South Carolina State University (SCSU), the Mayor of Orangeburg and representative of the Orangeburg Parliament.
The immersion programme availed the participants, various immersive cross cultural and academic activities, as they were taken round the various SCSU Schools, Faculties and different Units for adequate familiarization. These activities included seminars and presentations which centered on Finance, International Trades, Research Methodologies, Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Management and Agric-Business, a core of South Carolina State University.


Prof. Adebisi had a special session where he gave his scholarly perspectives on entrepreneurship potentials and opportunities in Africa. He used the opportunity to re-emphasize the commitment of the University of Lagos to the global partnership, with a view to fostering collaboration of the global north and south in research and investment. The participants used the opportunity to rub minds and ask questions as it relates to their various areas of research from the global perspectives.


The ULBS delegation and their counterparts from the American International University Business School, Nairobi, toured various historic sites including the Iconic Historic Stone in SCSU designed by a Nigerian, Professor Filani; Art House in Orangeburg; South Carolina House of Assembly and South Carolina University’s Demonstration Farm where they interacted with experts in hydroponics and vertical farming. Engagements covered salient research areas such as: Agric-research, Agric-business, Agric-AI, Urban Agriculture.




















The 2 week exercise provided global exposure and a unique opportunity for participants to engage in networking and other activities which could aid their professional and career development At the end of the programme, each participant smiled home with a Certificate of Attendance as well as various works of arts.
