Professor Babatunde O. Ope-Davies, Founder and Director of the Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos (CEDHUL), and Professor of English, Digital Linguistics and Digital Humanities, Faculty of Arts, UNILAG has been awarded a Deustche Forschungsemeinschaft (DFG) Research Grant.
The grant award, which is for a period of four (4) years (2026-2030) is for his project titled: Digital Cultures and Textuality: Reframing. Re-imagining and Re-inventing African Ecocritical Narratives Through Creative Works, Material Culture and Digital Discourses. It is sponsored by the DFG, University of Bayreuth through its prestigious African Multiple Research Excellence Grant.
Prof. Ope-Davies has also been appointed Director of “Digitalities” (tagged “Digital Culture”), subsection in the Lagos Africa Multiple Research Center (Lagos-AMRC) 2.0. The subsection has three sub-projects domiciled in Lagos, Kenya, and Ouagadougou.
