The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has emerged as the highest-ranked university in Nigeria in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, released on September 30, 2026.
According to the ranking, UNILAG shares the top position in Nigeria with the University of Ibadan and Covenant University. Globally, the three institutions are placed in the 801-1000 band among 2,297 ranked universities worldwide, reflecting UNILAG’s consistently improving performance year after year.
