The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Senate has approved the renaming of the Office of International Relations, Partnerships and Prospects (IRPP) to the Office of Global Engagement and Strategic Partnerships (OGESP).
The decision was taken at the Senate meeting held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, following consideration of a recommendation by the Academic Planning Committee.
The new name reflects the University’s evolving approach to internationalisation, collaboration, and institutional advancement. It underscores UNILAG’s commitment to fostering global relevance through strategic, equitable, and high-impact partnerships.
The transition to OGESP is expected to further strengthen the University’s engagement with international institutions, development partners, and global networks, while enhancing opportunities for academic exchange, research collaboration, and capacity building.
