HRDC-UNILAG Announces Specialised Training on Council Affairs for Tertiary Institutions

The Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) of the University of Lagos is pleased to announce a 5-day intensive training programme designed to build capacity and enhance the efficiency of Council Affairs Officers across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

Programme Title: Efficient Council Affairs for Senior Officers of Nigeria Tertiary Institutions

Date: Monday, April 7 – Friday, April 11, 2025
Venue: HRDC Building, University of Lagos
Certification: Certificate of Participation (100% attendance required)


Why This Training Matters

The Governing Council occupies a central position in the governance of Nigerian universities, with critical responsibilities spanning policy direction, financial oversight, institutional property, and public engagement. As such, the administrative machinery supporting Council operations must be efficient, responsive, and well-versed in modern governance practices.

In view of the increasing number of universities and the growing complexity of governance structures, there is a pressing need for targeted training to enhance the competencies of Council Affairs Officers. This programme is designed to bridge that gap.
