Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have once again raised the banner of the University high at the 2022 edition of CFA Society Nigeria Ethics Challenge. Led by their Faculty Adviser Dr. Peter Amah, students from various departments and faculties of the University have brought honour to the UNILAG name over the years through the CFA Challenge.
This year, Team UNILAG included students who are also members of the University’s Investment Society. They are:
- Eniola Oyenuga (Finance 400L),
- Francis Ogundokun (Finance 300L),
- Ahmed Suluka (Accounting 300L) and
- Mariam Adahunsi (Actuarial Science 300L)
These esteemed Akokites competed against 22 universities to win the first position. Students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) took second position, University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) emerged third, while University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) came fourth.
The outstanding performances of UNILAG students at CFA Society Nigeria Ethics Challenges and CFA Equity Research Challenges over the years have continued to confirm that the University of Lagos is indeed the University of first choice in Nigeria. They have won the CFA Society Nigeria Ethics Challenge three (3) times and the CFA Equity Research Challenge four (4) times.
Remarkably, this particular trophy for the Ethics Challenge, which was used to usher in the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS into office in November 2017 was won just before the end of his tenure. It can be said to be the student’s symbolic way of sending Prof. Ogundipe forth from office and ushering in the 13th Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, FAS.
The CFA Society Nigeria 2022 Ethics Challenge was sponsored by the First Bank of Nigeria Limited. CFA Society Nigeria is one of the member societies of CFA Institute aimed at promoting the highest standards of investment practice in Nigeria and providing a vibrant community for the interaction and professional development of their members.
