The Management of Alpha Beta Consulting was at the Faculty of Engineering on Monday, February 8, 2021. They were received by the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Obanisola M. Sadiq.
The purpose of their visit was to inform the Dean about the company’s resolution yo institute an endowment in honour of late David Ntekim-Rex, an alumnus of the University whose promising future was cut short by unknown men at gun point on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Alpha Beta Consulting is an IT firm which is set on revolutionising the image of revenue collection in Lagos state. It specialises in providing professional and independent advice and support in information and financial systems.
According to the Head, Projects & Corporate Affairs, Alpha Beta Consulting, Mr. Opeyemi Ogungbo, the endowment was instituted as part of the Company’s corporate social responsibility scheme and appreciated the University for the opportunity to partake in stimulating self-motivated, hardworking and outstanding students of the Department of Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
Mr. Ogungbo presented a bank draft of one million, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N1,250,000) to the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Sadiq. The bank draft represented a five-year instalment of two hundred and fifty naira (N250,000) annual scholarship. This would be presented to the Best Graduating student of Systems Engineering at the next Convocation Ceremonies and subsequent ones as well.
At the presentation were: Mr. Kayode Akinyemi, a media consultant at the company; Head, Corporate Services, Mrs. Morounkeji Folasade; Mrs. Tolu Oyerinde, Mr. Chima and Mr. Femi Makinwa of the Corporate Communication Department; and Head, Client Management Unit, Mrs. Modupe Odubajo, all from Alpha Beta Consulting. The Acting Head, Department of Systems Engineering, Dr. T. T. Akano was also present.
After the presentation, the representatives led by the Sub-Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Lawrence O. Osoba and Faculty Officer, Mrs. Awonusi paid a condolence visit to the mother of the deceased, Dr. (Mrs.) Yewande Ntekim-Rex, a lecturer at the Department of English, University of Lagos.
