The 2026 International Week of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) will hold from Monday, October 12 to Friday, October 16, 2026.
Themed “Re-imagining Pedagogy and Teaching for Higher Education in the 21st Century,” UNILAG International Week 2026 has a line-up of engaging events including:
- Faculty Global Engagement Fora across all Faculties on Monday, October 12, 2026;
- Formal Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the J.F. Ade-Ajayi (Main) Auditorium, UNILAG; and
- 19th UNILAG Research Conference and Fair from Wednesday, October 14 to Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Multipurpose Hall, UNILAG, Akoka.
The Opening Ceremony will feature:
- Remarks by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa;
- Keynote Address by Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ghana; and
- Contributions from distinguished experts and education leaders from Nigeria and other countries, including representatives of King’s College London, the University of Birmingham, Curtin University, Strathmore University, the University of Pretoria and the Tshwane University of Technology, among others.
The programme will provide a platform for academics, education professionals, industry leaders and other stakeholders to examine emerging approaches to teaching, learning and academic development in a rapidly changing world.
Members of the University community and general public are encouraged to participate in UNILAG International Week 2026.
