The Department of Physics, Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences, University of Lagos (UNILAG), on Monday, September 28, 2026, received ten new HP laptops donated by an alumnus, Engr. Olawale Oredolapo, Managing Director of Transition Energies. The equipment, presented at the Faculty Laboratory, is expected to support teaching, learning, and research activities.
Faculty Appreciates Alumni Support
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, OON, FAS, the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences, Professor Olayinka Taiwo Asekun, appreciated Engr. Oredolapo for his generosity. She noted that the donation would enhance access to modern computing resources for lecturers and students, particularly in the wake of the restructuring of the former Faculty of Science into three Faculties.
The Head of the Department of Physics, Prof. V. C. Osebo, also commended Engr. Oredolapo who graduated from the Department in 2010, for giving back to his alma mater. He noted that alumni support through the provision of teaching and learning resources could enhance students’ academic experiences and contribute to the University’s educational mission.

In response, Engr. Oredolapo attributed his professional success in the global oil and gas industry to the academic foundation and mentorship he received at UNILAG. He emphasised the importance of equipping students with modern technological resources to prepare them for an increasingly technology-driven and competitive world.
