Further to our earlier communication on the temporary interruption of internet connectivity and some e-services due to a fire incident at one of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Data Centres on Monday, August 10, 2026, the University community is hereby informed that internet connectivity and all affected e-services have now been fully restored.
Following the incident, the University undertook extensive technical assessment and recovery efforts, including the restoration and stabilisation of power supply to the data centre, recovery of bandwidth services, and the replacement and reconfiguration of core network devices affected by heat from the fire.
The necessary systems have now been brought back online, and normal access to the University’s digital services has been restored.
The University appreciates the dedication and commitment of the technical teams and other personnel who worked diligently to restore the affected infrastructure and services.
The University regrets any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and appreciates the understanding, patience and support of the entire University community, including staff, students and other stakeholders, throughout the period of the disruption.
Thank you.
